Guying of Overhead Distribution Circuits Course (ST4)


After a graphic illustration of the need for proper guying, we review the various components of a guying system including the wire, insulators, anchors, and how soil classification impacts holding strength. We work through detailed guying calculations and look at the how software is used in these calculations.

Prerequisite: Introduction to Sags, Tensions, and Guying for Distribution Circuits Course (ST1)Forces and Loads in Overhead Distribution Systems Course (ST2), and Sags and Tensions in an Overhead Distribution System Course (ST3)
