Introduces the regulations governing pole lines, mainly ESA Regulation 22/04 and CSA Guidelines. We survey the components of the overhead system, analyze the forces on poles and talk about grades of construction and load factors, followed by a detailed study of sags, tensions, clearances and the guying of poles. Finally, we cover the software options available for these calculations.
